Read Then Watch

The Hunger Games

Just like many other book lovers, I find that film adaptations of some of my favorite books are not what they should be or could be.  I often get disappointed when I feel like some of the best parts are altered or left out all together to add entertainment value for those who have not read the book.  Another reason I have a hard time watching movies created from books is that the creators of the film seem to have an imagination much smaller than my own.  It makes the movies not nearly as interesting and detailed as the book tends to be.

While I have an issue with a lot of book to film projects, that does not mean that I do not get excited when I find that one of my current reading obsessions is coming to the movie theaters.  For the last year, I have been told my numerous people that I had to read The Hunger Games.  I put it off until just last week when three different people recommended the books to me.  Now that I am finished with the trilogy, I have let myself watch the trailer for the movie that will be out in 2012.  All I can say is, “wow.”  Hopefully the entire movie will be like the trailer.  Take a look.
